Adventure
Methow Valley
Methow Valley offers a wide variety of activities year-round. The Methow Valley is nestled between two of the largest Wilderness areas in the country – the Sawtooth and the Paysayten. This makes Twisp a great home base for your next big adventure. Whatever your recreation speed may be, the Methow Valley will not disappoint as each season offers an abundance of thrilling or relaxing outdoor fun.

Outdoor Recreation
Winter options include cross country and downhill skiing, heli skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, fat-tire biking, ice skating and snowmobiling. In the spring, summer and fall, create your own hiking or biking adventure, paddleboard in an alpine lake, float the river, or simply swing in a hamock with a book. You may also opt for one of the valley’s spectacular outfitter guides to take you out on horseback or for a wonderful hiking, fishing, rafting or hunting experience.
Cross Country and Downhill Skiing
We boast one of the largest groomed cross country ski trail systems in the country. With over 200km of trails, Nordic skiing doesn’t get any better than this. There are plenty of trails to suit any skill level from first-time skiers to Olympic athletes. If you are looking for a bit more speed, consider downhill skiing or snowboarding at the beloved Loup Loup Ski Bowl. “The Loup” provides 1,240 vertical feet and 10 cut runs for those wanting to get their adrenaline flowing.

Bike Riding & Hiking
Do you long for fast rides on scenic country roads? This is a road biking paradise with dozens of routes to test your legs and sooth your mind. Big perks are beautiful views and very few cars! Looking for something more rugged? Explore the 200km of trails that are open to mountain biking Spring through Fall ranging from smooth dirt tracks to high alpine trails. These same scenic trails offer top-notch hiking adventures with breathtaking panoramic views. From flat and casual to extreme elevation gain, we have it all!
Fishing
The Methow and Twisp Rivers are fast becoming some of the region’s favorite wild rivers for fly fishing. Spend your day on the bank of the river or hire a guide to show you our best kept secrets. Either way, you’ll find the thrill of fighting a steelhead or trout on the end of your line.
Water Activities
The valley’s rivers and lakes provide excellent entertainment beyond fishing. Take a dip in a lake, raft through class III-IV rapids, float in a tube under the hot summer sun, paddle a canoe across calm waters – and the choices continue!
